Sister Honors Her Brother’s Sacrifice on 9/11

When Jessica Ross moved from New Jersey to South Carolina, she experienced her most “isolating” September 11th ever. Absent from a community of supporters, she mourned her older brother, Christopher Amoroso, 29, a Port Authority Police Officer trained in special tactics and fire patrol, quietly. The oldest of six siblings, Chris was last seen entering the North Tower after leading numerous people to safety from lower levels.

Best friends dream big together and create non-profit preschool

This week's Sprinkle of Inspiration all started with two best friends. After witnessing the need for free preschool education in the Raleigh, North Carolina area, Laurie Harrell and Ellen Safrit decided to start their own non-profit, Wee Care. Today they continue to spread love through their all inclusive preschool, offering transportation and two meals a day for their Wee Care kiddos. How love sparked a flame in one family’s hearts to create Grace+Love Candle Co.

This week’s Sprinkle of Inspiration highlights the sweet aromas of Grace+Love Candle Company. This small business was born during the dark days surrounding the Coronavirus Pandemic in the home of Jamahl and Natalie Grace. Their love for all-natural candles has brought smiles to many all over the United States. While business is booming for this family, they love giving back to their community by donating to minority scholarship funds. Mobile classroom brings education right to students neighborhoods

In 2004, a group of early childhood educators in Harrisonburg, Virginia noticed that 50% of children entering kindergarten had low levels of literacy. In response, they created The Reading Road Show, also known as the Gus Bus, a mobile classroom that visits kids in their neighborhoods and allows them the opportunity to check out books and participate in lessons of different subjects.
